Pretty Please.....Your Perfect to Me

Thursday is here and we have had the Flu hit the house hard again this week My oldest and Jeremy both started throwing up early morning Wednesday, YUCK!! We had a long day of 7-up & crackers yesterday. Jeremy is still home today with a fever. Yesterday was a home work out day due to the illness. I was so proud of myself to get in the following WOD:

45 Burpees & 15 decline push-ups
125 lunges
130 squats mixture of regular & sumo
40 crunches

I am trying so hard to stay on track this time & not push myself to the brink of exhaustion but push myself enough to have to up the anty every few days. I am working on myself for myself! I know that I tend to get a little obsessed so I'm trying hard to stay focused & listen to what my body is telling me this time around. I have always had a one track mind when it comes to fitness & nutrition. It started way back the summer before I started 8th grade. All my friends where naturally skinny & in the 80's that was the thing to be, skinny! So I started the never ending quest of dieting. Guess what I was not just good at it I was GREAT!!  I look back at pictures & am shocked at how thin I was. At 5'5 I should have never been 106 pounds at my lowest. I never allowed myself to go above 115 in high school- crazy now that I look back, but at the time I thought I looked great!
Now everytime I start a new cycle of fitness & nutrition I have to really reign myself in on my nutrition at times. In college working out became an obsession when I gained ten pounds the first year and was no longer a size 4- seriously folk I thought a size 6 was awful! Now I repeat to myself daily and a lot that "Size DOES NOT define me! My fitness level & my strength are the MOST important thing" I try to remind myself it's ok to have stretch marks and curves . I mean geezzz I have had four children back to back. But I do not use my children as an excuse to stay jiggly or stay still. I may not be perfect in the eyes of the world but guess what I DO NOT HAVE TO BE!!  The only people who I want to see me and think I am perfect or pretty darn close are my husband & my boys. I stay healthy , exercise, track my fitness for myself & for my family.
I know I am not the first or the last woman to struggle with body issues. I struggle all the time. But I try to remember that there is no such thing as perfect it's all in my mind- there is only the motivation to make myself the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, & friend I can be for myself. This video I found today I LOVE IT!! I wanted to share it today so that everyone who struggles with body issues can remember it's not about what society says you should be at all. It's about taking care of yourself for yourself so that you can be there for those that really matter in your life.
That "perfect" is in the eyes of the beholder. Those that love you won't mind that you have moments of pure insanity or that your not a size 6!! If they do, they have no place in  your world. Remember to Love your self, then it will be easy for others to Love you back!

My song of the day to hare over at Goodnight Moon with Amber is this:

Perfect ....

I am & will always be striving to improve myself, but I am no longer trying to be Perfect.

It's February....YAY

I got some good news yesterday concerning R&R- he will be home one whole day sooner then he thought!! Yes folks I know it's only 1 day, but when you haven't slept more then four/five hours a night in months or had a hug so tight it feel like they never want to let you go- one day is a HUGE DEAL!! Plus this is the month he is coming home - February!! February means my birthday, R&R, and relaxation- I'm suddenly liking this month a whole lot more this year.

Today's song link up over at Goodnight Moon  was a toss up between a couple songs. One that was a little more slow I miss my man type or the one I actually picked that put's a big smile on my face everytime I hear the song. It has just got a catchy beat & makes me sing along everytime. I even have it as my new ringtone for now. My song pick of the day for Amber's link up is......

Colbie Caillat Brighter Than the Sun. I love almost anything she sings but this is one of my latest favorites. I hope everyone has a great Groundhog day & may Spring be right around the corner!!

Tune Time Thursday

I am taking a break from puppy news to do my regular Thursday post. If your new to my Blog feel free to back up a few posts to catch up on all the exciting news about our new Service Dog , Banyan. Now I have had zero time to listen to any music this week with the exception of other people posting things on Facebook. With that said I decided in Honor of Veteran's Day tomorrow November 11th I would post a song I love.

May we never forget that my freedom & yours is protected 365 days a year , 7 days a week, 24 hours a day! As some would say our Military are on duty 24/7  so thanking them just once a year isn't to much to ask. I personally think we should have to thank them everyday!! I have seen first hand what it is like when the soldier misses birthdays, holidays, weddings, births, misses life to Protect US! So even if it's a small post on a friends Facebook Wall today, tomorrow, or next week say Thank You- let them know you haven't forgotten the sacrifices they have made for our great nation. Now go link up with Amber over at Goodnight Moon to see what other lovely Bloggers have been listening to this week.

Here is Lee Greenwood with God Bless the USA

Tune Time Thursdays

This week has been a huge blur. After the run on Saturday & all the Halloween parties I was wiped out! Monday I literally sat in my husband chair almost all day with out doing anything more then laundry.I was so tired I'd be typing on the computer & tears would form for no apparent reason other then I was exhausted. I didn't even feel bad that no work out was taking place. Now I am rested & almost back up to speed. It's amazing what a few days of doing nothing but sticking close to home or enjoying coffee with an old friend will do for a girl. With that being said a song this week never popped into my head until yesterday morning.

I was driving to pick up my friend when our local radio station had a contest going to win Kathy Griffith tickets for her show this weekend. You had to identify who was singing this version of Queen's  "Fat bottom girls". Well I knew who it was instantly but didn't call in because I figure if I got it that fast someone else most likely would .  Nope, the contest went on for twenty minutes, I was shocked & driving down the road screaming at my radio-LOL  But never pulled over to try & call in to the radio station- wish I had now. I love Kathy Griffith- us red heads have to stick together.Anyway that song has been stuck in my head ever since hearing yesterday morning. We love to sing it on Rockband as well when we have a gathering.
So today's song link up with Amber from  Goodnight Moon
is "Fat Bottom Girls" by The Band Perry & the original by Queen. I like both versions but they actually sound like two different songs. I hope you enjoy!

Now to hear more great song pick from other amazing Bloggers head on over to Goodnight Moon  & link up yourself!

3 Months & Counting

I had a very nice relaxing morning visiting with the neighborhood Military wives as I hosted the coffee at my home. I enjoyed holding all the cute snugly newborns. Watched as the mommies tried to keep toddlers out of things in my home as it is no longer baby proof. I thought I had done a decent job of putting things away-lol I forgot how resourceful toddlers can be! After a nice morning I logged into my Facebook to check on my husband only to read  the following status on his Wall "Left Home 3 months ago, 9 more to go...". Ugg,,,,, then my mood changed. I had finally reached that place in the deployment where I am comfortable in the routine the boys & I have established. I had stopped looking at the calender every day wishing time would go faster. But My husband hasn't. His routine seems dull & never changing to him, he misses us terribly. Then to read all the well meaning comments people posted about "WOW it's really only been 3 months, seems longer". you bet you sweet butt it seems longer! Anywhooo going to try to forget that I have nine more long months to go & who knows when R&R will be??? Just going eat my Spinach lasagna for lunch & wait for the boys to get home. Hopefully we come up with something to keep us entertained for the next nine months.

9 Months ago today we said goodbye & had one last hug

9 months ago today they gave their dad one last hug goodbye....

Looking forward too.......

Thursday Means Tune Time

This week I have  definitely been out of the loop so to speak. Waiting to hear from my husband that he made it safely had me home bound a lot. You know your in a deployment when your laptop is permanently with in arms reach as well as your home phone & cell. We live out where there isn't much cell service so all three pieces of technology have made their home on & around me this past week. Needless to say I haven't listened to much music-SHOCK I know!! I have however embraced the peace & quiet that has surrounded me while the kids are at my parents. I even took a nap during the afternoon & I wasn't sick! It's kind of like I get " Mom's Night Out" all the time! I am really relaxed & recharged.

While I was enjoying my extended "Mom's Night Out" I came across a hilarious parody based on a Jay-Z song . So this is my choice for my link up with Amber at Goodnight Moon. It's not your typical song you hear as you drive down the road that is for sure! But the video made me laugh so hard as I sat with my laptop waiting for my man to chat. Here you go ladies & gentlemen I give you " Mom's Night Out" the parody- enjoy!

Now you go link up with Amber over at Goodnight Moon & share your favorite jam of the week. Also take the time to listen & see what the other lovely Bloggers are jamming too this Thursday!

Also go check out Mommy Juice Wine   They use this same parody for their web site- so I ordered two bottles to try. I can't wait for them to arrive! Have a great Thursday everyone!
