Thursday's Tune Time

The song that is going on over & over in my head this week is a child's song " Rain, rain, go away come again another day!" Oh my how the WA weather has definitely come in like a Lion for March- I sure hope it goes out like a lamb soon! I won't be posting that song not even sure they have it on Youtube? But if you want to have fun & link up with Amber from Goodnight Moon for song week #50 please go ahead! I love listening to all the music every Thursday morning while waiting for the boys to wake up for school.

My pick for this week is Colbie Calliat - she makes me smile & I love her voice so much. Every one of her songs is good to listen to on the radio or your Ipods.

I am pretty sure I have picked this in the past at some point- but it just makes me feel good & puts me in a wonderful mood! I need some sunshine in my life on these dreary spring days in WA. Enjoy folks & have a great Thursday!

Pretty Please.....Your Perfect to Me

Thursday is here and we have had the Flu hit the house hard again this week My oldest and Jeremy both started throwing up early morning Wednesday, YUCK!! We had a long day of 7-up & crackers yesterday. Jeremy is still home today with a fever. Yesterday was a home work out day due to the illness. I was so proud of myself to get in the following WOD:

45 Burpees & 15 decline push-ups
125 lunges
130 squats mixture of regular & sumo
40 crunches

I am trying so hard to stay on track this time & not push myself to the brink of exhaustion but push myself enough to have to up the anty every few days. I am working on myself for myself! I know that I tend to get a little obsessed so I'm trying hard to stay focused & listen to what my body is telling me this time around. I have always had a one track mind when it comes to fitness & nutrition. It started way back the summer before I started 8th grade. All my friends where naturally skinny & in the 80's that was the thing to be, skinny! So I started the never ending quest of dieting. Guess what I was not just good at it I was GREAT!!  I look back at pictures & am shocked at how thin I was. At 5'5 I should have never been 106 pounds at my lowest. I never allowed myself to go above 115 in high school- crazy now that I look back, but at the time I thought I looked great!
Now everytime I start a new cycle of fitness & nutrition I have to really reign myself in on my nutrition at times. In college working out became an obsession when I gained ten pounds the first year and was no longer a size 4- seriously folk I thought a size 6 was awful! Now I repeat to myself daily and a lot that "Size DOES NOT define me! My fitness level & my strength are the MOST important thing" I try to remind myself it's ok to have stretch marks and curves . I mean geezzz I have had four children back to back. But I do not use my children as an excuse to stay jiggly or stay still. I may not be perfect in the eyes of the world but guess what I DO NOT HAVE TO BE!!  The only people who I want to see me and think I am perfect or pretty darn close are my husband & my boys. I stay healthy , exercise, track my fitness for myself & for my family.
I know I am not the first or the last woman to struggle with body issues. I struggle all the time. But I try to remember that there is no such thing as perfect it's all in my mind- there is only the motivation to make myself the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, & friend I can be for myself. This video I found today I LOVE IT!! I wanted to share it today so that everyone who struggles with body issues can remember it's not about what society says you should be at all. It's about taking care of yourself for yourself so that you can be there for those that really matter in your life.
That "perfect" is in the eyes of the beholder. Those that love you won't mind that you have moments of pure insanity or that your not a size 6!! If they do, they have no place in  your world. Remember to Love your self, then it will be easy for others to Love you back!

My song of the day to hare over at Goodnight Moon with Amber is this:

Perfect ....

I am & will always be striving to improve myself, but I am no longer trying to be Perfect.

Thursday's Tune Time

I really haven't had any specific music to listen to this past week as I was so sick with the flu. I am finally over that nasty bug & can only pray it stays away from all the children!! But as I was pulling away from the airport at 4:36AM Wednesday morning looking out my rear view mirror watching my soldier wave then walk away as the tears began I turned the radio up loud! I was thinking a nice distraction would be great! I had hoped for a catchy up beat song to take my mind off the fact that I have four long months left until I hold my soldier again. So I choose that song that was on as I drove away saying my "see you laters" one more time & hopefully for the last time. If you want to go link up & listen to more great songs by other amazing bloggers head over to see Amber at Goodnight Moon to join in on all the fun.

The song really holds no special meaning to me other then it was not that up beat& now I will remember in my brain everyday all the time. I do like it, & it actually made me cry harder while singing the lyrics. I'm pretty sure I should not have been barreling down I5 with the tears streaming that early in the morning. But all I could think about was I wanted to go home, I wanted to be there when the boys woke up, & most of all I wanted my soldier for one more day. Ahhh, the roller coaster ride of this Army life sometimes is too much on this girl's mental status. I know so many have been here right where I am this morning still. Needing sleep desperately only to get maybe four good hours as you wait for the phone call that he made it safely. Knowing in your head that realistically you can sleep because it'll be at least forty-eight hours before you hear anything at all. But your brain & heart just won't let you fall into that much needed slumber. Anyway here is my song pick of the week & the lyrics are good. I hope you enjoy!

Wonder wall by Oasis....ahhh the lyrics at times of course I felt like where just being sung for my moment.

And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I
Would like to say to you but I don't know how

Because maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me

And after all, you're my wonderwall

The last photo of my love & I at 2:30AM before we walked out the door. Oh how I miss him already & am already for this stupid deployment to just be over!!  We are the others person even when we are mad at eachother. He helped so much while I was puking my guts out so thankful God let him be here for the two weeks & I pray God brings him safely back to me in four months.

Wishing & Praying....

Yes folks it is getting hard to hide the excitement in our home. Soon & very soon I will be wrapping my arms around my man!

Thursday, February 2, 2012

It's February....YAY

I got some good news yesterday concerning R&R- he will be home one whole day sooner then he thought!! Yes folks I know it's only 1 day, but when you haven't slept more then four/five hours a night in months or had a hug so tight it feel like they never want to let you go- one day is a HUGE DEAL!! Plus this is the month he is coming home - February!! February means my birthday, R&R, and relaxation- I'm suddenly liking this month a whole lot more this year.

Today's song link up over at Goodnight Moon  was a toss up between a couple songs. One that was a little more slow I miss my man type or the one I actually picked that put's a big smile on my face everytime I hear the song. It has just got a catchy beat & makes me sing along everytime. I even have it as my new ringtone for now. My song pick of the day for Amber's link up is......

Colbie Caillat Brighter Than the Sun. I love almost anything she sings but this is one of my latest favorites. I hope everyone has a great Groundhog day & may Spring be right around the corner!!

Tune Time Thursday

It's that time of the week and I honestly am in a very melancholy mood. Not much energy lately and just ready to see my man. I had a very crazy day that I'll pass on posting about for now. But while I was in town picking out a movie to watch I got to pre-order Breaking Dawn which made me smile. Then it made me want to listen to this amazing song from the movie by Christina Perri- A Thousand Years. Even if you aren't a fan of the movie you may love the song. I know I love listening to it when it plays. It reminds me that I waited for my love & how I can't imagine not loving him ever. ahhhhh , love stories I am a sucker for them everytime. So that is my pick for the song link-up with Amber over at Goodnight Moon. I hope you hop on over to listen to some more great song choices from other lovely blogger. Have a great Thursday every one- oh and my countdown I am at 3 weeks!!!! YIPPIE!!

One of my favorite pictures. I can't wait to be in his arms again soon.

Thursday's Tune Time is Back

We all took a short holiday break from Thursday's music link up over at Goodnight Moon with Amber. But we are all back & I am really not sure what song I've been listening to this week. Oh that's right I've been trapped inside my home with four boys & three dogs!! I haven't got to listen to much this week thanks to the snow storm. All I can really focus on lately is the fact that my husband will be home in less then a month for R&R. So I am going to stick with a sort of oldie but goodie deployment must have on your playlist song. I am counting down the days until he is home again.Even if it is only for 16 sweet days.

If you haven't listened it's Nickelback's Faraway
It will be 7 months & 2 weeks by the time I hold my soldier again. He has been faraway for far too long.

Now head on over to Amber's to listen to some great songs & link up too!

Tune Time Thursday

No I haven't forgotten about linking with Amber over at Goodnight Moon  life just got very busy the past couple of weeks. BUT today I woke up & about FROZE my booty off taking kids to school & running errands. That's when I figured out my song! It's perfect for this time of year & I love it! The original is my favorite but I love it when it pops up in Christmas movies this time of year as well. Seeing as today's high in WA is only 35 degrees, clear, & COLD- I went with "Baby it's Cold Outside" . Love it in Elf when we watch it sung with Will Ferrral as well- just a good tune! But here is Doris Day & Dean Martin my all time favorite singers of this classic. Stay Warm everyone & go link up with Amber today.

Tune Time Thursday

I am taking a break from puppy news to do my regular Thursday post. If your new to my Blog feel free to back up a few posts to catch up on all the exciting news about our new Service Dog , Banyan. Now I have had zero time to listen to any music this week with the exception of other people posting things on Facebook. With that said I decided in Honor of Veteran's Day tomorrow November 11th I would post a song I love.

May we never forget that my freedom & yours is protected 365 days a year , 7 days a week, 24 hours a day! As some would say our Military are on duty 24/7  so thanking them just once a year isn't to much to ask. I personally think we should have to thank them everyday!! I have seen first hand what it is like when the soldier misses birthdays, holidays, weddings, births, misses life to Protect US! So even if it's a small post on a friends Facebook Wall today, tomorrow, or next week say Thank You- let them know you haven't forgotten the sacrifices they have made for our great nation. Now go link up with Amber over at Goodnight Moon to see what other lovely Bloggers have been listening to this week.

Here is Lee Greenwood with God Bless the USA

Here is a picture of some of my Favorite Veteran's Thank You All Who Served & our Serving

My Amazing mom & the best role model a girl could ever ask to have- Love you mom

Paul's dad & the reason his son, my husband has served Proudly for 21 years.

Tune Time Thursdays

This week has been a huge blur. After the run on Saturday & all the Halloween parties I was wiped out! Monday I literally sat in my husband chair almost all day with out doing anything more then laundry.I was so tired I'd be typing on the computer & tears would form for no apparent reason other then I was exhausted. I didn't even feel bad that no work out was taking place. Now I am rested & almost back up to speed. It's amazing what a few days of doing nothing but sticking close to home or enjoying coffee with an old friend will do for a girl. With that being said a song this week never popped into my head until yesterday morning.

I was driving to pick up my friend when our local radio station had a contest going to win Kathy Griffith tickets for her show this weekend. You had to identify who was singing this version of Queen's  "Fat bottom girls". Well I knew who it was instantly but didn't call in because I figure if I got it that fast someone else most likely would .  Nope, the contest went on for twenty minutes, I was shocked & driving down the road screaming at my radio-LOL  But never pulled over to try & call in to the radio station- wish I had now. I love Kathy Griffith- us red heads have to stick together.Anyway that song has been stuck in my head ever since hearing yesterday morning. We love to sing it on Rockband as well when we have a gathering.
So today's song link up with Amber from  Goodnight Moon
is "Fat Bottom Girls" by The Band Perry & the original by Queen. I like both versions but they actually sound like two different songs. I hope you enjoy!

Now to hear more great song pick from other amazing Bloggers head on over to Goodnight Moon  & link up yourself!

Just Dance with a Tune

We had company over Wednesday afternoon & Jeremy had so much fun playing with his friend. At some point they stopped playing with the trains & put on Just Dance for the Wii. All the sudden I hear the music from ROCKY , that's right folks my boys are singing Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger". I jumped up to see what was happening & it cracked me up! I grabbed my camera & had Jeremy start over. I have to say for a little guy he had some serious concentration going on during the dance. I tried my best not to laugh super loud like I did the first time I saw the dance moves. Just so you all know he takes after his dad & must really focus on his moves.

This leads me to it being Thursday & Song Link up time with Amber from Goodnight Moon. I am posting Jeremy's version of "Eye of the Tiger" then you can compare his moves with the video from Rocky. I have to say I am partial to Jeremy's moves. I mean he even does the shoulder moves! Have a great day & go link up at Goodnight Moon to post your favorite song of the week. Also feel free to share the adorable video from you Tube of Jeremy's awesome dancing-LOL

Did you notice the head & shoulder action...haha

Tune Time/ Movie

I really had no idea what song I wanted to pick for this week's Song Link up over at Goodnight Moon ? Then I watched the movie Wednesday while folding laundry that I LOVE so much & it always makes me laugh everytime! Here is a hint for you all ....

BULL-$%*T   haha one of the funniest scenes in the movie.

Ok, Ok if you don't know yet here is one more clue for you all....

"It's a little give & a little Go"  another great scene

But I love the music most of all through out the whole movie there are great songs to listen to & sing along with. I have two picks which I know is technically against the rules-lol But I can't help  myself.
So if you still don't know the movie it is "How to lose a guy in 10 days" with Matthew McConaughey & Kate Hudson- if you haven't seen it RENT it NOW!!

First up is Keith Urban with "Love Somebody Like You" Very catchy & makes me want to sing it to my husband  if he was home.

Next comes from the funniest scene- ok so there are so many favorite scenes in this movie I love! But this is towards the end at the Dinner-haha Gotta Love Carly Simon! But I love this clip from the movie just as much so here you go- a little snippet of the funny movie that keeps me laughing!

Now I hope you all had some fun & if you want to hear more music you head on over to see Amber at Goodnight Moon  and LINK -UP yourself while your there.

This week Thursday snuck up on me again!! That means time is going by quickly & I am A-OK with that! I really didn't have to many songs I listened to this week- I know SHOCK!! I actually was reading a lot on my down time this week instead of cruising around with children in the van. I did listen to a few good songs for work out time so I am posting one of my favorites. It has a great beat & I love the chorus more then anything.  Saving Jane's " Super-Girl" Love it!!  Now you go link up with Amber from Goodnight Moon  leave your favorite song of the week & listen to what everyone else is listening too this week.

Tune Time Thursday

It didn't sneak up again on me this week! I knew as soon as I watched the movie on TV earlier this week I would be using this song. It kept popping up on Youtube videos & TV so it's my pick. One of the best movies to watch is 10 things I hate about you . It stars the Late Heath Ledger who I miss seeing on the big screen so much. He was a great actor & I love almost all his movies. My favorite scene from that movie was when he was trying to win the affection of Julia Stiles character by singing along with the marching band. What was he singing you ask?? Can't Take My Eyes Off of You .....sung by Heath Ledger in the movie. Just a line or two but oh- he won me right then & there with his smile. So with out further ado here is the video clip that stole my heart from the movie & also The Muse singing their version. Both are great & I am happy to link up with Amber again from Goodnight Moon.

Now  The Muse.....

I hope you had fun stopping by & take the time to go listen to more great songs over at Goodnight Moon.

Tune Time Thursday

I got way sentimental this week with my oldest baby turning fifteen!! Still not real sure how that happened?? Anyway it is Thursday again which means it's time to link up with Amber over at Goodnight Moon  . I can't believe it is week 32 already! I think I found this Song Link around week 4, hard to believe that much time has passed. Anyway back to my choice I went with the wonderful Kenny Chesney again. He just has so many great songs to pick from I can't help it if I love him!

I did pick "Don't Blink" & added my own family pictures to make the video. So it won't be what your expecting, but it makes me happy. I enjoyed digging through all the old photos on the computer to make the montage. I was smiling like crazy while I walked down memory lane looking at baby pictures.I also thought I sure look older & I am not sure that is a good thing- these deployments seem to suck the life right out of me! Anyway now it's your turn to head over to see Amber & link up! You can also listen to more great songs - Have fun!

Tune Time Again...

Thursday snuck up on me this week. I have been busy with the kids school, house cleaning, & trying to get into a good work out routine. My song choice this week is old school & just because I keep listening to it on the way to the gym every day this week. I use to love it & pretty much still thinks it rocks! Guess I should thank my brother for introducing me to Van Halen back in the day when parents thought they where evil, haha. Go link up at Goodnight Moon with a lot of other lovely Bloggers with your Song Pick of the week.

I liked Van Halen better with David Lee Roth- this song always makes me smile & lately makes me work out!

Songs that make you Think

With my soldier gone as the ten year anniversary of 9-11 approaches this weekend I am nervous. I know he is as safe as he can possibly be while deployed, but it is still unnerving. Yesterday while on post heightened security measures went into effect, which made my anxiety a little worse. So as I thought about sharing my song choice for this week with everyone here & over at Goodnight Moon. I decided to go with Darryl Worley's " Have you Forgotten" ? It goes with my Blog Post from earlier in the week Remembering the Day the World Changed. I didn't go with the video from  YOUTUBE. I took an hour of my time & made one that means a lot more to me. It shows images that help us all Remember that horrible day. The day that changed my world forever.

I hope you take a moment to watch, remember, & pray for all those lost that day. As well as pray for all our soldiers still protecting our freedom around the globe.

Make sure you head over to see Amber at Goodnight Moon  to hear some more great songs of the week & link up your own!

A Movie with a Song

It's that Tune Time Thursday over at Goodnight Moon with Amber. I watched one of my favorite movies last night after I put the boys to bed . I love almost all the music from this popular movie.....GREASE ahhhh.... I wanted to be Olivia Newton John when I first snuck to watch this back when I was in second grade with my friend Renee. I can't believe I can remember who I watched it with. I can only explain that all the great music, Oliva & John  made a huge impact on me! I really want to dress up as the Pink Ladies for Halloween with my friends one day-lol We lived in California at the time & Renee's parents always let us drink coke & watch movies with them. This was my first adult movie I remember going to see that I loved. It's hard to narrow down a song but since Summer is coming to an end I went with Summer Nights. I hope you enjoy this catchy blast from the past. If your like me you will be humming it all day long!

Now you head on over to see Amber at Goodnight Moon to listen to some more catchy songs new & old! Link up while your there with your favorite from this week!

Maybe I'll go watch Dirty Dancing now.......

Tune Time Thursday

It's that time again of the week- my favorite song of the past week. I was driving to the gym on Tuesday & had the radio set on my new favorite station that plays 80's,90's, & NOW! They kept playing some oldies that I loved- Great White "Once Bitten"- LOVED IT!! Who could forget Tawny on the hood of that car? Then they played a little Vixen- enjoyed that as I hadn't even thought of them in forever. But right before I parked on comes one of my all time favorites from my MTV Video watching slumber party days- the CARS " You Might Think" I was singing at the top of my lungs while I was parked in the ANYTIME lot- I am sure some poeple inside thought I was a Wack-Job - haha. But that video always made me smile back in the day & I still love how catchy the song is today. So please head on over to Goodnight Moon to link up your favorite song & hear some other lovely choices of the week.
